Will I be able to have children after laparoscopic radical prostatectomy?

Laparoscopic radical prostatectomy severs the vas deferens, which carries sperm from the testes to the urethra. Consequently, a man who has had laparoscopic radical prostatectomy cannot father children by conventional means. Patients who are considering having children in the future have the option to bank sperm. This is a function that can be handled separately and should be done well in advance of any prostate cancer surgery.
